On May 22nd, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced that “part-day school age programs…that has a single purpose for the children’s attendance and that purpose is the only focus of the program (e.g., soccer or art class)” is permitted to operate. Below are our guidelines for participation:
- Stay home when appropriate. If showing any symptoms of illness or if the participant has been in contact with someone with COVID-19, do not attend the session.
- Participants will notify staff if they test positive for COVID-19. In the event that a participant notifies us of a positive test, all participants will be notified via email and the group will be discontinued for 14 days.
- Use proper hygiene. Participants should wash or sanitize hands before and after sessions. Also, participants will be required to use hand sanitizer (provided by Project 10) before and after each training session.
- Only participants will be allowed entry into the facility. Participants will enter through the main door and will exit out of the side door. Participants should not enter the facility until 10 minutes before their established session time.
- Face coverings will be worn by staff when feasible and especially when physical distancing is difficult.
- Face coverings are not mandatory for players.
- Players will not handle equipment (cones, dots, triangles, etc.) and will not pick up soccer balls.
- Equipment will be sanitized on a daily basis.
- Physical contact between players will be restricted to the extent possible.
- Players will not share water bottles.
- Training groups will be 12 or less players.
Note that, per the Pennsylvania Department of Health, “Social distancing in summer programs and child care may look different than the common practice of maintaining six feet of distance between individuals.” The guidelines above allow us to meet the intent of social distancing in summer programs.
